Star Tracks - Weekly Horoscope for the Week of January 13, 2025

A work desk with a sign that says "get shit done"

The Sun spends his last full week in Capricorn, and boy does he have a lot to say! Here is your weekly horoscope for the week of January 13, 2025: A dynamic week lies ahead. It kicks off with a Full Moon on Monday in uber sensitive Cancer, before cooling off significantly with the start of Aquarius season on Sunday. The Capricorn Sun will be connecting to many of the major players while he wraps up his annual journey through the natural Tenth House, demanding that we get to work while we still can. Our personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, are all up in the mix as well. The Moon starts the week at home in Cancer, where she will culminate on Monday evening. She blazes into Leo early Tuesday morning, and heads into meticulous Virgo on Thursday. Saturday night sees her balancing the scales in Libra, where she stays through the rest of next weekend.

Monday, January 13, 2025 - Sun trine Uranus Rx (23° Capricorn to Taurus); Full Moon in Cancer (24° at 5:27 p.m.)

The Sun forms a smooth trine to Uranus Rx today, bringing innovation, open-mindedness, and progress to the forefront. This is positive and uplifting energy; it can lead you into taking calculated risks aimed at increasing self-awareness and confidence. Don’t be afraid to let the more quirky side of yourself shine today, and be on the lookout for flashes of intuition. You may even get a glimpse into the future under these stars. We also have a Full Moon in Cancer this evening. Cancer is the sign that the Moon rules, so expect the energy surrounding this lunation to be extremely strong. Translation: watch out! People are likely to be extremely sensitive now, which can cause all sorts of unusual behaviors. This is especially true because the Moon is conjunct Mars Rx (who loves to bring up old shit), trine Neptune (who wants to help you release that old shit), and sextile Uranus Rx (who really just wants you to detach from this old shit already). Expect emotional overflow with this one - it could take you back to some childhood stuff that feels really gross, but that is ripe for release and healing. Lean in.

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - Venus square Jupiter Rx (11° Pisces to Gemini)

Venus and Jupiter Rx, our two benefic planets, square off from the mutable signs of Pisces and Gemini. If you were hoping to get anything done today, you might be disappointed! These two are all about love and fun and expanding - all good things - but the energy they create when they square is basically too big to get a handle on. Thus, it results in a day where we feel joyous, optimistic, and friendly, but the vibes are simply not conducive to situations that require focus or serious attention. It’s a great time to schmooze and socialize. It is NOT a good time to engage in excesses... which is probably ALL you’ll want to do. This energy is very easy to take too far, so watch out for overspending, overeating, overexerting, etc. This aspect is also notorious for slapping the proverbial beer goggles on your face: your standards in romantic relationships will be a lot lower than usual, which can lead you to make some very questionable decisions in your personal life. If you go to bed at 2 a.m. with a 10, you’re sure to wake up at 10 a.m. with a 2. Stay toxic.

Wednesday, January 15, 2025 - Sun opposite Mars Rx (26° Capricorn to Cancer)

Competition is the word of the day with the Sun opposing Mars Rx, a transit that is known to bring our most assertive energies up and out. Achieving your strongest desires feels like the only way you’re going to get through the day, so you will be all too willing to blaze a trail through your own life right now. That would be a huge mistake, however. This is an opposition, after all, and Mars is still very much retrograde in the sign of his fall. Are you correctly identifying something that you desire? Absolutely. Instinctually, you know that you are onto something good. Are the methods you are about to employ to obtain that thing the best possible use of this energy? Absolutely not. You will one hundred percent come over the top without meaning to do so. Or, since Mars is in Cancer, you’ll probably come at it all weird and sideways. Either way, it won’t be good. This energy requires tact, patience, and subtlety - qualities that will not come naturally to us now. Trying to push things will cause people to resist and/or oppose you with an equal amount of force, resulting in stalemate. Bide your time. It will be quite a while before Mars lets us move forward with anything of significance.

Friday, January 17, 2025 - Sun sextile Neptune (27° Capricorn to Pisces)

In stark contrast to the energy from yesterday, the Sun sextile Neptune brings a soft, compassionate, and empathetic vibe to the day. This is a great time for artistic pursuits - anything requiring creativity should flow incredibly smoothly now. Inspiration is everywhere, and your intuitive prowess is at its peak. Neptune is the guardian of the veil; every now and again, he gives us a glimpse of what’s on the other side. Today is one of those days, so take advantage and use that otherworldly energy to manifest something unique here in the material world. You might also feel particularly charitable today, or your dreams could be off the charts, providing you with clear insight into your inner world. It’s a great time to zone out, for sure, but don’t squander the energy. The Capricorn Sun wants to build something; so dip into Pisces for inspiration, but come back down to earth and get to work.

Saturday, January 18, 2025 - Venus conjunct Saturn (16° Pisces)

Venus is having her parade pelted with flaming bags of dog shit today, conjoining Saturn in the middle degrees of Pisces. You may remember that Pisces is the sign of Venus’ exaltation - this is her favorite house. But Saturn gives precisely zero fucks about that, and will cast a big black cloud over her party regardless. It’s a bump in the road for Venus, but a significant one. Normally jubilant AF in Pisces, today Venus is sad, lonely, and isolated. Her self-image is in the toilet, her lack mentality is spreading fear throughout her kingdom, and her desire to love and be loved is basically non-existent. In a word, we don’t feel so fucking great today. If this energy is hitting your personal life, you could find that a rather karmic relationship begins now. Don’t get too excited about that though, because karmic relationships are routinely awful. If it’s hitting your finances, you’re undoubtedly considering selling your eggs, or starting an Only Fans. Don’t do anything rash. Yes, this energy is terrible, but it’s fleeting. Things will look much less bleak by tomorrow.

Sunday, January 19, 2025 - Mercury in Capricorn sextiles Saturn (16° Pisces) and Venus (17° Pisces); the Sun enters Aquarius (3:00 p.m.)

Mercury pings the separating Venus/Saturn conjunction, forming a sextile to both of them from Capricorn. Things looked pretty bleak yesterday, but Mercury is here to provide a bit of a silver lining. Venus/Saturn brought your awareness to something lackluster in your lived experience, and it was exceedingly easy to see and feel stuck in the worst case scenario. Life handed you lemons. But along comes Fix-it-Felix today, and that mofo is a pro at making lemonade. Mercury in Capricorn knows how to help, but it’s going to require you to: a) get over yourself, and b) get to work. That’s been a theme this week, maybe you’ve noticed? This is your last chance, because this afternoon, the Sun peaces out of Capricorn. He moves into Aquarius, the natural Eleventh House, which rules the collective, society, humanitarianism, technology, overall connectivity, hopes, dreams, wishes, and sticking it to the Man - that’s our favorite part. The Water Bearer is an air sign, not a water sign - the water is a metaphor for knowledge, which Aquarians are charged with spreading to anyone who will listen. The energy is cold, logical, and insensitive. It’s friendly, but completely devoid of emotion. Enjoy the deep freeze. The Sun is here until February 18th.

A necklace made of rose quartz and copper

Once upon a time, I made lots and lots of beautiful copper and crystal jewelry. Then life happened, and now I haven't made any jewelry in a long, long time. Truth be told, I miss those days. I really need to get back to it. And I will. But for now, I still have quite a few really nice pieces in the shop. It's all 20% off this week - Enjoy!
