Star Tracks - Weekly Horoscope for the Week of March 24, 2025

A sand sculpture of King Neptune

A week of bait and switch, as both Venus and Mercury backtrack into Pisces to complete their respective retrograde cycles. This is your weekly horoscope for the week of March 24, 2025: Eclipse season mercifully comes to a close with the Solar Eclipse in Aries. This is the last eclipse along the Aries/Libra Axis, a series that started back in July of 2023. Venus and Mercury make some massive connections, and King Neptune charges into Aries from the depths of the ocean floor. In a week where his energy positively dominates the cosmic landscape, we see a shift nearly two centuries in the making. The Moon is waning to her new phase. She starts the week in Capricorn, but moves into Aquarius Monday morning. Wednesday sees her swimming into Pisces mid-afternoon, and on Friday she starts anew in Aries. The Aries Solar Eclipse takes place early Saturday morning, before La Luna heads into Taurus on Sunday.

Monday, March 24, 2025 - Sun conjunct Mercury Rx (4° Aries)

The Sun and Mercury Rx meet up today, marking the midway point in Mercury’s current retrograde cycle. Like Venus Rx last week, today finds Mercury Rx in the heart of the Sun - illuminated and potentially scorched. Opinions differ on whether the cazimi is a good place for a planet to be. Many astrologers believe it to be an exalted position, where the light of the Sun greatly enhances the archetype of the planet. But there are others who claim that the Sun’s energy swallows up the planetary archetype, making that planet too combustible to work with. No matter which way you go, the cazimi is an important marker of progress in a retrograde cycle, and it signifies a day when the underlying message that Mercury’s trying to convey can be revealed to you. In Aries, on his way back to Pisces, don’t be surprised if that message is blunt, harsh and more than a little selfish. Be mindful, but don’t take it too much to heart. Mercury will be back in the healing, compassionate waters of Pisces soon enough.

Tuesday, March 25, 2025 - Mercury Rx sextile Pluto (3° Aries to Aquarius)

For the next little while, Mercury Rx is going to be a giant copycat, repeating all of the aspects that Venus Rx makes just before him. Last week, Venus had her cazimi and sextiled Pluto. This week, Mercury Rx does the same. And, spoiler alert, they will continue to tag team us all week. Mercury Rx sextile Pluto is another retrograde-induced, repeating aspect, with the second of three installments occurring today. This one harkens back to March 5th, and connects us to April 20th, when the thread expires. The energy itself is likely to manifest as intense and probing conversations, profound (and sometimes subconscious) messages, or a compulsive need to get to the bottom of something. Pluto is a subversive influence, but sextile is benign. So benign, in fact, that it can pass right by without you even noticing. If you feel called to investigate something further now, you should absolutely accept that invitation. The information you need will be there, ripe for discovery, but it will not be dropped in your lap. Action is needed to work a sextile, so don’t sit back and wait for something to be handed to you. You’ll miss out on something important.

Thursday, March 27, 2025 - Venus Rx reenters Pisces (4:41 a.m.); Venus Rx conjunct Neptune (29° Pisces)

Splish splash, here we go back into the pool. Venus Rx reenters Pisces today, and is immediately met by Neptune. There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s take it in steps: First, the move back into Pisces from Aries is a comfortable one for Venus, who is exalted here. She’s in detriment in Aries, so she’s been on the struggle bus lately. Even though she’s still out of phase, we should notice an uptick in Venus themes now that she’s returned to her favorite sign. Compassionate, dreamy and romantic energy is back on the menu. If you’ve been taking a harsh approach to something Venusian while she was in Aries, you can expect to find it easier to soften now. And soften you should. As for Neptune, he’s the higher octave of Venus, and the modern ruler of Pisces. So, putting these two together in the 29th degree of the sign is apt to create some positively transcendental energy. Boundaries shmoundaries, am I right? No but seriously, this is an insanely expansive influence that can absolutely help to dissolve a stalemate, inhibitions, your entire nest egg, you name it. Just remember that public indecency is still a crime just about everywhere.

Saturday, March 29, 2025 - New Moon Solar Eclipse (9° Aries, 6:58 a.m.); Mercury Rx reenters Pisces (10:18 a.m.); Mercury Rx conjoins Neptune

The eclipse window, and the entire Aries/Libra eclipse series, comes to an end today with the Aries Solar Eclipse. This is the first New Moon of our freshly-begun solar cycle, and a wonderful opportunity to set intentions around how you can show up as the most authentic version of yourself in this coming year. Leave some room though, because eclipses tend to bring fated events into our lives, meaning that, try as we might, we may not be able to bend this energy to our will. Keep in mind also that Mercury’s retrograde jumped off of this exact degree just a couple of weeks ago, so there’s a strong connection between the review he’s encouraging, and the fresh start this eclipse is demanding. Speaking of Mercury, he’s copying Venus by backing into Pisces and running face first into Neptune as soon as he gets there. Unlike Venus, however, Mercury isn’t terribly effective in Pisces. Doubly so when Neptune wraps his tendrils around him. So tread extremely carefully today. Not only is the wheel of fate being spun like a top, but our lower minds are almost completely disabled as well. There’s no telling which way is up, or where we are going to land just yet. Avoid major decisions, if you can. If you can’t, leaning into your intuition is the safest bet. Logic gets you nowhere.

Sunday, March 30, 2025 - Neptune enters Aries (8:00 a.m.)

I am about to write a sentence that has not been uttered in 164 years: Neptune enters Aries today. I’ll say it louder for the folks in the back: Neptune. Enters. Motherfucking. Aries. TODAY. Friends, this is a big deal. Neptune has been in Pisces since April of 2011, and he rules Pisces, so he was really good at his job for the past 14 years. What is that job, you may ask? Well, dissolving boundaries, of course. Like, literally and figuratively obliterating them. Creating illusions. Encouraging mass formation psychosis. Promoting unsustainable idealism. Erasing borders. Turning men into women. Basically mainstreaming the most errant nonsense, and somehow commanding the masses to fight to protect the absurd. Neptune in Pisces is the king of blurred lines - an absolute master manipulator. We are seeing what happens when objective truth is submerged for too long, though; and, after pulling the wool over our eyes for years, Neptune in Aries is here to deliver his own reckoning. Fucking savage. There is far too much to say about this transit for me to sum it up in a paragraph. Far too much. It’s a significant lift off. Neptune is easy to underestimate. But do so at your peril. The last time Neptune moved into Aries was on April 14, 1861, a mere TWO DAYS after the start of the Civil War. That’s right. The planet that rules universal love and dreams and music started the fucking Civil War. So… yeah. I’ll let you do the math on that. In the meantime, I’m going to check the warranty on my rose-colored glasses. Neptune will retrograde back to Pisces in October. He lands in Aries for good in January of 2026.
